What to Expect For Your Appointment

I'm so glad you reached out to schedule a lactation appointment.

Appointment Timeframe

Our appointment start time is just an estimate. If you would like me to text you if I am running behind or ahead of schedule, please send a text with your name in advance of the visit. I don't text when I am driving, but will do by best to keep you updated when I am on my way with an ETA.

Visits usually last around 60-90 minutes.

Home Preparations

Please clear a level space on the table or floor. It doesn't need to be a huge surface, but it needs to be stable.  I will need a clean swaddle blanket available for my scale.

If we will be in your bedroom, please have a chair close by that will be available for my use.

Please gather your breastfeeding pillow or any extra pillows you may think would be helpful to work on positioning.

If possible, a wi-fi password for your home is super helpful!

How to Prepare Your Baby

It is helpful if your baby is ready to eat about 15-20 minutes after my arrival time. This leaves us time to chat and start to build a plan to meet your goals. If your baby does get hungry, feel free to give a small (~1 oz) feeding. We can always pivot during our visit, but it is best to have a baby ready to eat.

Please have a dry diaper ready for baby and a swaddle blanket close by for my scale.
